Siemens Interview Questions and Placement Papers :

I got placed in SIEMENS through campus placement.
– 2 days and 4 rounds selection process.
– They took more than one week to announce the final selection list.

First day
– 1st round Online technical (Multiple choice questions covers data structures, algorithms, C and C++ basics and output tracing). around 45-50 questions.
– 2nd round Online Aptitude (only who clears 1st round). Covers basic aptitude questions and passage reading (time limit for each question).

Second day
– 3rd round Face to face technical (only who clears 2nd round). In this round interviewer asked to write code for 2 programs either in C or C++ and 2 puzzle questions.
– 4th round HR (only who clears 3rd round). Common HR round questions.

Firstly there was a written (MCQ) test, 15 questions on Aptitude and 15 on java. Out of 50-60 odd people, they selected 10-12. Then 2 Technical rounds would have been there and 1 HR round. I got eliminated in technical interview round. (I have 5.5 yrs experience)
Focus on Java Fundamantals. You can not escape just by having knowledge of collections. I was told that do collections in depth, which I did, but nothing was asked on it.
The guy who interview me was very knowledgeable person and repeated twice that programming problems are just like life problems. Just focus on basics and you will sail through very easily.

Question related to locking. A weird calculator which will allow subtraction to happen when addition operation is happening but not allow multiplication or division to happen. Accepting that there is no further scope here for me now, I told him that my work involved less of threads. And that I worked on servers where it just required a threadpool to accept connections. He then asked me about threadpool. firstly, what controls the thread ? And secondly, the life of a thread immediately ends when its task is ended. How does a threadpool maintain then its threads ?

It was cool.There were totaly 4 rounds. 1st written test of english,apti,logical(20 questions ,eachquestion with time limit).Then only few got shortlisted for 2nd round.In Technical they moistly concentrated on logics and based on skills in Resume.The next is Manegirial round, there checking confidence and projects related.The final round is hr, just simple(but i rejected in manegiurial round)

One could attend further rounds only on clearing previous rounds. I had been till HR round and I was not selected. Online tests happened on one day and interviews on the next day. The process took 3 days. I interviewed at Siemens (Bangalore).

Got call from recruiting firm after discussing salary structure only resume got shortlisted. Written test with 3 questions followed by interview round. After that manager round.
They asked to fill employment form and told they will call for client interview.
When confirmed with hr he told salary is concern. Why they are calling people for time pass if salary part is already discussed before applying.

The process started with two online tests, in the first one questions were mainly based on C++ , concepts of OOPs and data structures. In which out of around 150 students 94 were shortlisted and the second test was about aptitude, verbal and logical reasoning. After this round 44 were shortlisted
and the interview process was going to take place the next day.
2nd day: There were six panels for the tech interview and in each panel different types of questions were asked , some of them are:
-Basic questions on OOPs and Data Structures
-Probability and coding questions like towers of hanoi , stacks using linked list , find the number of
factors of a number.
-Be perfect with information about the projects you have done because they will check your in depth knowledge about the project. I could answer all because i didnt concentrate much on projects that i mentioned in my resume so may be due to this i failed to get the offer.
Out of 44 shortlisted 24 were sent to HR including me , after two days results were mailed and my name wasn’t there. By the way 12 got selected.

The interview was a scheduled walk-in in electronic city Bangalore.
Day one waited for 2-3 hours for 1st round, 2 person was there in that panel they asked questions from the programming language and what automation tool I have used and how I have used in my project.
The funny thing is that they were asking the puzzle question what has asked in Google interviews in past.
In that round one person left 2 more joined and again started asking questions.
By the time first round got over it was lunch time. They served free lunch only good thing about that place.
After lunch 2nd technical round. Again almost some technical question s and some puzzles. Interviewers of second panel was good. They asked me to explain my project architecture and framework on white board.
3rd Round was a HR round for namesake. The HR guy was not asking genuine professional question that was more sounded like time pass for him. Not good.
They gave the employment form to fill and asked to come for one more managerial round on weekday.
Worst part, the lady scheduled the interview said they are ready to offer what I had demanded.
But the HR guy said not a chance you will get. The lady has lied to you and bla-bla.
That sounded again unprofessional.

On Tuesday they had called in that panel one manager and one more Lady took interview they both were good and nice, asked technical questions only.
And other normal question why you want to leave your current job and other generic stuffs.
Again money was a concern, he said we don’t pay this much, if someone had promised you they have lied to you.

They asked basic application of concepts with examples and it was a good experience.1st round was written exam which tested the technical concepts. 2nd round was Group Discussion round and this tested the personality of the candidate. 3rd round was personal interview with HR and candidates who successfully clear the first two rounds get selected for the HR round and after HR round you wait till your final selection is made public.

DAY 1
The selection process was split into two days, the first day was for the aptitude and the next day was for the personal interviews.
The recruitment process kicked off at sharp 9:15.

We first had the pre-placement talk which explained about what the company did and what all services it offers.

Technical Aptitude Questions.

Strength of students who took this test : 373.
The test consisted of 30 questions which was to be answered in 45 minutes.
There isn’t any negative marking.
All multiple choice questions.
There was no coding rounds in it.
It was basically like, if a person knows C++ he’s in, else he’s out, 30 questions were purely based on C++, questions ranged from Virtual functions, inheritance, classes, vectors, pointers concepts and to predict the output of a code.
I was technically sound enough to clear this round and head on to the next one.
almost 50% of the people cleared this round.

Analytical Aptitude Questions.

Strength of students who took this test : 169.

This was more complicated as the entire test was based on time management.
The test consisted of 3 sections, Verbal reasoning, Graphical analysis and Diagrammatic Analysis.

Verbal reasoning.
Consisted of 8 questions which was supposed to be answered in 6 minutes.
Standard English comprehension with moderate difficulty. 2 passages with 4 questions each
Could complete it easily.

Graphical analysis.
Consisted of 8 questions which was supposed to be answered in 6 minutes.
2 Graphs with 4 questions each.
Moderate difficulty, because it was difficult to analyze one graph in 3 minutes and answer 4 questions based on it(they wanted to test time management skills in this test)

Diagrammatic Analysis
Consisted of 8 questions which was supposed to be answered in 6 minutes.
2 diagrams with 4 questions each.
Probably the toughest of all the sections because it had a lot of parameters which needed to be analyzed.

Luckily I was able to clear this round as well.
We were all shortlisted and asked to come on the next day for the interviews.

only 38 student out of 169 cleared this round.

DAY 2

The interviews kicked off at 9:30 am on the next day, there were 6 interview rooms, when my turn came up, I was asked to wait in room 5. The interviewer asked me questions based on my resume and a lot of mathematical questions based on probability, matrices, geometry, etc.(probably because of what I had stated in my resume)
He asked me to write a simple program to check if a number is prime or not. He then asked me about myself. I wasn’t satisfied with my answers and thought I wouldn’t clear this round as I was good at technical skills and mathematics wasn’t my strong point, but my communication skill was good and interaction was also good, hence I cleared this round as well.

The other rooms had questions from polymorphism, overloading, and a lot of C++ concepts, so I’d suggest you be prepared with all that. Coding questions also were asked in some of the rooms.

Out of 38 people 19 people cleared this round.

In the HR, I was asked to read a passage and choose the option which was the most appropriate of them all. I answered.
He asked me why Siemens, I said that Siemens is an old company with a lot of reputation, and its got the least amount of layoffs when compared to any other company.
He asked me about myself, I answered.
He asked me about my parents and family, I answered.
He asked me to give a photograph, I gave and then he asked me to leave.

After another 2 hours the results were announced. And they had selected 16 people.

They gave us a brochure and an 8GB pen drive containing videos and pdfs relating to the company.

Prepare really well for C++ for technical aptitude.
